An Exhibition of ELTHAM College Alumni Artists from the Past Four Decades

About Masterworks 2014

MASTERWORKS is an invitational art exhibition, which over the past twelve years has achieved a reputation as an exceptional biennial art show.

As the 2014 exhibition coincides with the 40th Anniversary celebrations of ELTHAM College, it will feature artists who have attended the College over the past four decades and will be presented in a new-look format to reflect the special significance of this year's event.

This milestone exhibition will showcase a variety of works including oils, photography, sculpture and jewellery and will also see the introduction of a media category, with a viewing area for short film submissions.

MASTERWORKS provides a high quality forum for the enjoyment and appreciation of visual arts, confirming art as an essential part of our living and working worlds.

The 24 exhibitors range from emerging to established artists, with some exhibiting their work for the first time.

Opening Night was held on Friday 17 October with attendees enjoying Drinks and Canapes, and music accompaniment provided by ELTHAM alumni Nadine Delbridge (Orchestra Victoria) and Hamish McGregor (Full Circle Band).

A cash prize was awarded to the artist deemed Best In Show by our Judging Panel, consisting of artist Jamie Cooper, Sue Gibson from Cambridge Gallery and artist Deborah Halpern, who will also be the Opening Night guest speaker.

Attendees at the Opening Night event voted for their favourite artwork, with the winner receiving the Bendigo Bank People's Choice Award cash prize.

The exhibition is open for viewing from 18 - 31 October.
