Laura Casey Portrait

Working across the field of interiors Laura has become most interested in the events and happenings of the everyday. She is currently undertaking studies in Interior Design at RMIT University, recently returning from a Semester of exchange in the Inter-Architecture Department at the Gerrit Rietveld Academy in Amsterdam. During her time living in Amsterdam Laura was part of the 100 minutes behind the fa├žade film workshop, BYOB Festival Amsterdam 2013 and had various works published in the Subbucultcha! open call publication. Her work is directly influenced by everyday situations. She is most interested in how interventions, objects and devices can alter the way in which we behave within space. Laura works through various processes such as drawing, mapping, photographing and prototyping in her design process. This is key to the conceptual development of projects and often these experimental pieces stand as works on their own.
