Sarah Masson Portrait

Sarah is an Artist, Designer & Curator. Her pop up gallery 'An Artspace' was officially launched in June 2014 and is currently making waves within the Melbourne art scene. Residing in Brunswick, she has a degree in Communication Design from RMIT and has been painting consistently since 2012.

Sarah's current body of work explores voyeuristic portraiture in a modern impressionist style. She deeply explores the intrinsic relationships between people, as well as the strength in independence and the struggle in finding personal balance. Her subjects, all of which are mostly female, are usually nude, unaffected and confidentially content in their natural state. Her works create an emotional contrast through unapologetic experimentation with expressive lines and vivid colours. Sarah draws inspiration from painters such as Matisse, Basquiat, Ben Quilty and Rhys Lee for their bold choices with colour and fearless use of paint.
